Building Regulations
Building Regulation Approval is required when carrying out structural alterations. Small, straightforward building work, such as the removal of a load-bearing wall, can be issued under a building notice often without the need for full plans. Once a building notice is given, work will be inspected as it progresses. The client will be advised if details do not comply or if further information such as structural calculations are required. Party Wall approval may also be required in some instances where beams are supported on boundary party walls. For more information regarding Building Regulation Approval, please contact your Local Authority Building Control Department or a Private Sector Approved Inspector.
Beam Calculation Service Costs
One beam design - £75
Two beam designs - £125
Three beam designs - £150
Four beam designs - £175
Terms
Payment is required upon instruction, upon presentation of a Proforma Invoice.
Only after full payment is received, will you be covered by our firm engineering indemnity insurance and you can submit the calculations to Building Control.
Calculations will be emailed in PDF format within three working days from the date of instruction and payment receipt.
Should additional services be required, they would be chargeable at £75 per calculation subject to prior agreement and formal instruction.
Site visits and site inspections can be arranged by prior fee approval.
Beam location drawings can be undertaken for an additional fee.
Beam-to-beam connections and support details are additional.
Padstone bearing design and foundation assessment are additional.
Some projects need to be fee proposed separately to take cognizance of other overriding design factors, for example, overall building lateral stability where significant load-bearing walls are to be removed internally.
